時間/彫刻　−時をかけるかたち−

既製品に最小限の手を加えることで、それらを固定された意味から解放し、色や形をそなえた造形要素として、「彫刻」のあらたな可能性を模索する。Twitterにて毎日発表される「今日の彫刻」などと併せ、既存の展示空間や制度を批評的に考察する活動でも注目を集める。現在、武蔵野美術大学准教授、「壁ぎわ」「はしっこ」世話人。

Exploring new potential in “sculptures” by adding the smallest touches to products from everyday life. In using them as sculpting elements for their colours and forms, he frees them from their perceived stereotyped purpose. As well as his daily update of “Today’s sculpture” published on Twitter, his activities, that often involve examining existing exhibition spaces or systems with his critical eye, are drawing more attention with the public recently. Tomii is an associate professor at Musashino Art University since 2018 and care taker of KABEGIWA(2006-) and HASHIKKO (2018-）.
