「大地に何かが立ち上がり、まっすぐな中に揺らぎがある。そのようなことが林武史の彫刻の表現の基本にある。そして、彼は自分の足元を再認識することで、表現をより豊かにしながら、大地のテーマを押し出し、体験型の作品を展開させた。さらに彼は屋外設置に進んで、自分の作品を自然環境と深く関わらせるようになった。 現実の大地の上で自然の風景の前に彫刻が立ち、それを見る彼と私たちもそこに立っている。作品はしっかりと存在しながら、環境の移ろいの中で表情を変える。それもまた、堅固な構造と、そこに伴う揺れ動き、と見做すことができる。 彼の直観は、私たち人間が存在して活動することや、その場に関する、何か根源的なものに向けられている。」

「Whatever rises up from the earth is both straight and fluctuating—such is the basis of expression in Hayashi’s sculpture. And while reaffirming what is most important to him, he has elaborated on his expression, stressing his theme of “earth,” and developing works that the viewer can experience. In addition he has begun to install works out of doors and to deepen their interrelationships with the natural environment.
He places his sculptures directly on the ground before the backdrop of the natural landscape, which is where he and we as well are standing. Endowed with their own strong presence, his works display varied faces amid the changes in the environment. That can be seen as a manifestation of how something that has a solid structure is also an embodiment of shifting or fluctuating movement.
Hayashi’s intuition is directed at something fundamental in human existence and activities and regarding place (ba).」
