私は、自己と風景のあいだの視覚的・思索的往還の中で彫刻を制作・展開させています。
山にまつわる制作では、もっぱら絵画的な風景の実在感（手触りの記憶）を触覚的に木に刻むことを主題としていました。近作ではそこから転じ、「記憶と非実在の確かさ」が彫刻制作の主題となってきました。「モデルを作った記憶」の彫刻《遠いモデル（雲のような）》、彫刻家の写真を元に制作した肖像彫刻、《三態(solid, liquid and memory)》の右部分などは、そのわかりやすい作例です。
私が主に彫刻に用いている木という素材は、風景と生命体としての私のあいだにいつも存在し、また人類の生活や文化の様々な場面で支持体となってきた重要な存在であり、私に制作へ向かうきっかけや勇気を与え続けています。
My Sculpture works is formed in philosophizing about the landscape.
The main theme of my works about the mountains was how to engraving the haptic reality of the landscape in lump of the wood. But, the theme is changing currently, that is “the haptic existence in the memory”. The works of “A model in a distant memory (like a cloud)” and a part of right side in “3 phases (solid, liquid and memory)” are easy to understand examples.
The wood is important material, that I usually using for my sculpture. Because that exist in between the landscape and myself, and also that has supported human life and civilization.
“The wood” has been making a chance and courage for challenge of my works.
